Die Mail an die Weltpresse hat das deutsche CSC-Management aufgeschreckt. Manager versuchten, unverzüglich die Initiatoren des offenen Briefes und der Unterschriftensammlung einzuschüchtern. Auf Mitarbeiter, die öffentlich eine Meinung äußern, die unbequem für das CSC Management ist, wird Druck ausgeübt, damit solche Aktivitäten künftig unterbleiben. Die Einschüchterungsversuche dauern an. Rechtliche Konsequenzen werden angedroht.
Die Vorgehensweise der Manager bleibt nicht ohne Wirkung. Mancher CSC-Beschäftigter hat mittlerweile Angst, öffentlich seine Meinung über die aktuelle Personalpolitik des Unternehmens zu äußern.
Die Mehrheit des lokalen Managements in Immenstaad hat versucht, die gegebene Unterschrift zu widerrufen, nicht aber den Inhalt des Briefes. Der Grund für die Panik dieser Manager ist die Tatsache, daß der Brief eine viel größere Reichweite erlangt hat, als sie es für möglich hielten. Der Brief ging an Presse und Fernsehsender der Welt. Bleibt die Frage: Warum scheut das Management die Öffentlichkeit? Ist es die Angst, dass bekannt wird, dass sich unter den 261 Beschäftigten, die entlassen werden sollen, kein einziger Manager befindet?
Der Zugang zur Mailbox, von der die Mails am 11. Oktober verschickt wurden, wurde gesperrt. Freie Meinungsäußerung ohne Zensur ist im Grundgesetz unseres Landes verankert. Das hindert das CSC Management nicht daran, die eingehenden Antwortmails zu zensieren und den Mitarbeitern vorzuenthalten. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Antwort von Richard Ricks der Zensur des deutschen Managements standhält.
Was für eine Welt ist das... ...in der in einem zivilisierten Land Beschäftigte Angst haben müssen, ihre Meinung frei zu äußern und sich öffentlich für den Erhalt ihres Arbeitsplatzes einzusetzen?
...wo hervorragende, hochqualifizierte Beschäftigte von profitablen Unternehmen gefeuert werden, nur um die Aktienpreise weiter nach oben zu treiben?
...in der zensierte Kommunikation stattfindet? Wir wollen, dass bekannt wird, welche Ungerechtigkeiten im Namen großen Aktionäre in Deutschland begangen werden!

Regarding the email "CSC Deutschland Services GmbH - Friedrichshafen Service Desk Closure in August, 2007" from 11.October.2006:
CSC German management reacted explosively to the sending of the above email to the world press - they immediately and loudly attempted to intimidate all of the people involved in writing the letter, collecting the signatures and sending the mail into signing various open promises concerning their future involvement in such issues. These intimidations are ongoing and several threats of legal action have been delivered. As a result of these attempts at intimidation, CSC workers in Immenstaad are afraid to openly declare their opinions of what is happening within the company.
Although a majority of CSC local management in Immenstaad, Germany attempted to officially withdraw their signatures from the original letter, it is interesting to note that they all continue to support the contents of that letter. The reason for their rather obvious panic is because the distribution of said letter was much more widespread then they had assumed it would be - concretely, because it was sent to various newspapers and television stations throughout the world. It is clear to this writer why management is so scared: Namely, it is common knowledge that from the 261 CSC workers in Germany foreseen for termination as a part of the restructuring measures that are being taken, NOT ONE SINGLE MANGER is included!
Access to the mailbox from which the emails were sent on 11.October has been restricted to management; all emails now coming into this mailbox are being censored. The person who sent the emails is unable to read the replies that have been sent in response to them. Censorship is illegal in Germany, but CSC workers are too scared to make much of a fuss about what is happening. We can only hope that, if Richard Ricks answers the letter, it won't be censored by German management.
What kind of a world is this... ...in which, in a civilized country, workers do not feel free to express their opinions or to fight for their rights?
...in which, profitable companies can be dissolved and great workers can be fired in order to push up the price of stocks?
...in which, communication can be censored without any fear of retribution? This writer, as a result of the above named reasons, must remain anonymous, but begs the world to sit up and take notice of the injustices that are being committed in the name of the greater stockholder!
